In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, vigilance and preparedness against the forces of nature cannot be neglected. Outreach Aid to the Americas/Americas Relief Team (OAA / ART) and its Port and Communities Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Program (C-PReP), in collaboration with Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (AERODOM) carried out on 17 and 18 June, 2020 the Dominican Republic Virtual Seminar: “Preparation for Natural Disasters in Time of Pandemic”.
The Seminar addressed both challenges, reinforcing the importance of disaster preparedness considering the COVID-19 challenge. Some of the topics presented included: The New Reality of Airport Operations, International Health Regulations and Epidemics, and took a look at the Projection of the 2020 Hurricane Season.
